Fatigue Management Strategy
Linfox is leading the industry in driver sleep health and fatigue management, investing in innovative programs, technology and partnerships to help keep our people safe on the road.
Our Fatigue Management Strategy is built on increasing awareness, education and proactive risk management across the business. Supported by a dedicated Fatigue Risk Lead, we are working with medical professionals and technology providers to better understand, identify and address fatigue risks both before work and during operations.
A key initiative is our industry-leading sleep study program, which helps high-risk drivers identify and treat conditions such as sleep apnoea. This structured approach not only improves driver wellbeing but also supports safer outcomes for our customers and communities.
We continue to strengthen our fatigue management capabilities through the rollout of In-Vehicle Fatigue Monitoring Systems and the trial of wearable fatigue-detection technology as part of an NHVR-sponsored program. We are also developing a fatigue safety metric to enhance how we monitor, assess and respond to fatigue-related risks across our operations.
Beyond our internal programs, Linfox actively contributes to industry research and innovation. Recent projects include a fatigue-screening technology pilot delivered in partnership with the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning and the Institute for Breathing and Sleep, helping explore new ways to identify and manage fatigue before drivers get behind the wheel.
